S Note problems since Marshmallow update.

Hey, I don't suppose anyone else has found S Note to be incredibly frustrating since the MM update?

Here's a few things I've noticed:

1. If you have the default cover set to the transparent one that shows the first page of notes, then S Note constantly crashes and freezes. Sorted it by swapping them all to a different cover.

2. They removed folders and swapped them for categories, which are nowhere near as useful for organisation.

3. You can no longer reorder notes for some reason?

4. If you accidentally copy a note to a category that its already in, clicking replace will delete the note entirely. I learnt this by losing three days worth of lectures, and sadly hadn't backed them up yet!

Hopefully they'll revamp S Note by the time the Note 7 is out.

Calendar notifications disappearing after 1 hour

Hi guys,

I am facing a strange issue since I installed the latest update on my S7. The notifications for S Planner events, that are shown when you pull down the top menu disappear after 1 hour. It used to stay there until I cleared them out manually.
I also tried Business Calendar 2 pro. Same thing happens there.
This is very annoying as I leave the notifications there until I deal with them and if they disappear I just forget that I was supposed to take care of something.
I was trying to find the setting that is controlling this with no luck. I really hope that this is a matter of setting or a bug.

Could someone help me with this please?

Boost variant WiFi errors

I hope I'm posting in the right place. If not, please accept my apologies and point me in the right direction.

I have been dealing with this problem for about a month. When I attempt to connect to an open wireless network, it fails with the message "IP Configuration Failure".

I have tried to set a static IP address, and doing this appears to solve the problem. Full signal strength, the Connected message under the SSID, but if I attempt to open a website, there is no connectivity.

I'm not rooted, so I understand a lot of patches and troubleshooting options aren't available to me, but if anyone had any insight into this issue,bi would appreciate it.

Oh! Nearly forgot. My wireless data has been dropping fairly frequently as of late. Just for a few, maybe ten seconds at most. I'll display full signal strength, but the little LTE notation will disappear. A few seconds later, I'll get the exclamation point for just a moment, than I'm back in business.

[N preview] Double System Android in battery usage and memory management

Hi guys,
Currently I'm using N preview [locked bootloader, no changes) and in e.g battery usage and memory management I have Android System and Android OS. Okay, but isnt it the same? In Android System i have included packages, in Android OS nothing, and mosty it uses mosty memory and battery. Why does it happen? My phone can hold about 2,5h SOT and that's not a good score, because when i was running on franco kernel it could hold about twice longer.
Android System after all day uses about ~800 mAh, depends from as I use.
So, is it normal? I'm not going to root phone again because it's enough smooth, just battery life doesn't contents me.

Primary microphone stopped working in calls, 90% muted

Hi all,

I've got a weird problem with my phone.
The primary microphone has stopped working during calls. Well, for the most part. If I blow into the mic, you can hear it. It sounds it's under water.

So i went into the xperia service test menu, and confirmed that the primary microphone is at fault. The secondary microphone still works.
Now, the weird thing is, I installed an app called "Microphone" which allows me to test the mic by outputting to the external speaker.
In this app, the primary microphone works 100%. It's not using the secondary mic on the back, but on the front. I can confirm accurately by blowing into the front mic or wiping my finger over it.
Yet, in calls or the service test, people cannot hear me.

Any ideas?

CPD1 modem on 5.1.1... Need help to go back to 5.1.1 modem

So I got the MM OTA notification the other day and popped on here to see the status, low and behold there is a bootloader unlock and root methods out. Well I once I got the free time I backed up my stuff and started to do the bootloader unlock steps. Well not thinking I did the factory reset from in android. That then (I think) started the update process instead of just factory reset. I pulled the battery real fast and opened up odin and installed the full firmware tar for 5.1.1 but I notice that I now have the cpd1 Baseband version which is MM 6.0.1 modem. Correct? How do I revert back to 5.1.1 modem so my wifi works and I can continue the rooting phase? I tried to just install the 5.1.1 modem through odin and it said success but it didn't change.

Notifications on (Lockscreen) Marshmallow B560

hi,

i was wondering that if someone could guide me through how to enable notifications on lockscreen......!! everything is enabled in notification panel each detailed are enabled for each application still unable to see notifications. actually to be more specific when using wifi it shows some application's notifications but when on mobile data applications do not show anything like whatsapp etc....!! how to enable notifications and for the record if there is any other app which can replace default lockscreen's notifications and show its own notifications only.....!! please help....!!

How to set up data usage warning on both sim cards

Hi!

My Op3 is only allowing me to set a data limit warning for one of the sim cards..

For Sim 2, it show the chart and "Set cellular data limit" option and, on the chart, the two line bars to set up the warning and maximum limit.

For Sim 1, it only show the chart, but no "Set cellular data limit" option and no line bars to set the up the warning and maximum limit.

Weirdly, for SIM 1 it show the date interval, which it doesn't for Sim 2..

Also.. where can I change the date interval?? It is assuming a wrong interval...

More probs with my M8.. Stuck on boot screen

I have the phone 2 days and OMG why!!! Like I didnt install any apps only from the playstore. I rebooted the phone and now I am stuck on d boot screen, white background with HTC in green. Cn ANYONE plzzzzzzzzzzz help me :(

Iv read and tried loads but cant get the dang ting to work.... I can get into recovery i can get into the HBOOT menu but thats it.

Theres def a few beers in it for the guy or guys that can help me and im Irih so I never lie abou drink hahahaha:cowboy::cool:

LG Magna booting problem

Hello everyone,

My problem is as follows:

My Magna is on bootloop.. I only see the LG logo for few seconds then black and repeat.

I tried the hard reset (holding volume down and power... etc) and when i choose yes to reset factory settings nothing happens and it goes back to bootloop.

I tried flashing but my laptop won't recognize the phone and therefore i can't complete the steps.

Safe Mode, Download Mode, and every other thing DOES NOT work. Holding volume down and connecting to the PC does nothing.

Can anyone PLEASE help me?

Accuweather GPS draining battery?

Hi XDA

I have this weird battery drain issue on my OnePlus 3. The app accuweather seems to be draining it. Look at the screenshots and you can tell that "GPS" seems to be always on. Everytime i go back and forth the timer goes up. Is this normal?

I have tried disabling active services for that app with the "disable service" app to no avail. What should i try? Im rooted and running stock os

Xperia z5 boot animation

Every single downloadable bootanimation seem to operate from a file called. 'bootanimation.zip'... However... On my xperia z5, boot animation operates from a file called 'bootanim.mp4'. If I rename or delete this mo4 file, there is no animation taking place. No matter what bootanimation.zip I install, it does not get called by the OS. The OS is looking king for the mp4 file. Can anyone help me to change this behavior, so that the bootanimation.zip gets executed instead.

My phone is rooted with xposed running and init.d is functioning as well.

Please guys, I can't find any reference to this anywhere on the net. Not it even on XDA.

How to wipe Cache and Dalvik with atock recovery

Hi,I bought my friend a Redmi Note 3 MTK.
His device has various problems like app force closes,fingerprint sometimes doesn't work etc.
Then i told him to download the stock rom and flash it with updater.
He did as i said.


His phone still has problems like force close,hanging and others.
I had such problem with another phone and i solved them with simple cache and dalvik wipe.
But now here in rn3,the stock recovery seems to be dumb and it doesn't do anything without the PC suite.


Now i need a way to flash the stock rom again with a full wipe of data,cache and dalvik.


What are my options?

I don't want to unlock the bootloader.as he will be mad at me for breaking Warrenty.

Notification reminders

I like option in setting to remind me about notification in 5 minutes. But it reminds me with sound *and* vibration. Is there any way to leave the sound only and turn off the vibration? I do not use vobration at all in my settings or profiles, it is present only in this reminder which is not comfortable.

4) Install SailfishOS zip file. The installation will take around 10 minutes so don't think that its stuck. Ignore any errors about being unable to mount data partition.

5) Reboot System when installation succeeds.


Notes-->

1) This is not an Android ROM. Android apps will not work right now. But a way for Android apps to work is available but will take quiet some time before it gets on our device.

2) Root access (using devel-su in terminal) requires a password which can be set in Settings>Developer Options.

3) For advanced users, you can ssh into the device after setting a password in Developer options using ssh nemo@192.168.2.15 over USB.

4) Do not register for a Jolla account. You will get an error about failed IMEI registration. This will be fixed as soon as Jolla allows ported devices to be registered.

5) The Store will not work. It needs a Jolla account. You can however use the openrepos warehouse for installing apps.

6) MTP over USB does not work.

7) Battery drains faster if screen is ON. Better than alpha but still needs improvement.

FM-Radio -->
You can play FM-Radio now but it is experimental.
Plug in your headphones and launch the PirateFM app for radio.
if it won't start, open terminal and use "harbour-piratefm" to start it.
Once the app starts, it should show a frequency. If its stuck at 0.0 MHz, then close the app(close, not minimise) and restart it again.It should show a frequency now. If you have echoing audio in the headphones, i.e. you hear your own voice in the headphones, then open terminal and " systemctl restart --user pulseaudio" and then try running the app again.
FM will not work through the speakers, and it also cannot be muted.

The file has been named as alpha-2 because that is how it was initially intended but it would be better to designate this as beta since its almost stable.
