Need help my emojis are not working!!!

I just got a note 4 and when I try to send a emoji it just comes up as stars (********) or blank. I had a galaxy 3 and people received them fine through my GO keyboard. I have tried to us that app again and it still doesn't work for that either. My husband On his galaxy Avant and dad receive...
